After the success of the first edition of PERSPEKTIVEN, which culminated in a grand group exhibition of 45 photographs depicting various aspects of the life-giving element water, graciously inaugurated on 26th September 2014 by Shri. B.P. Acharya, Principal Secretary Planning Department & Tourism and Culture Department, Government of Telangana, Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad is pleased to announce the second edition of this unique initiative to promote photographic talent.
About the new edition:
The theme for the second edition of the PERSPEKTIVEN photography series is MOTHER EARTH. Photographic submissions are invited, and selected entries will be displayed as a photographic exhibition at Hamburg Hall, Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad.
About the theme :
The Earth does not belong to us, but we belong to the Earth. Our Mother Earth is the source of all life, whether it be plants, the two-legged, four-legged, winged ones or human beings. The Mother Earth is the greatest teacher, if we listen, observe and respect her. When we live in harmony with the Mother Earth, she will recycle the things we consume and make them available to our children. The Mother Earth is a living entity that maintains life. We need to speak out in a good way whenever we see someone abusing the Earth. Just as we would protect our own mother, so must we protect the Earth. We need to ensure that the land, water, and air will be intact for our children and for our children’s children.
This edition of Perspektiven is an attempt to evoke and remind all of us of these natural emotions and revive long-buried instincts by a meaningful and thought-provoking display of photographs depicting all aspects of Mother Earth – her beauty, her joys, her sorrows and her pain.
