PANEL DISCUSSION
FOOD SAFETY - CONSUMER RIGHTS IN INDIA & GERMANY
FOOD SAFETY - CONSUMER RIGHTS IN INDIA & GERMANY
20 July, Monday
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad
About the panel discussion:It takes a long way for food to get from farm to plate. And this way is not always safe. Food safety has become a major issue in India after the Maggi case. But the problem is not new. Two out of three samples of milk did not meet prescribed standards in a nationwide survey by FSSAI in 2011.Many pesticides regularly used in India are banned in other countries for their bad impact on the nervous, reproductive system etc.
So, how can one avoid harm caused by food-borne illnesses? What can consumers do to protect themselves – in a long perspective and in their everyday life? These and other issues will be discussed by our experts on the panel :
In 2008, world-famous dancer Pina Bausch selected 40 teenagers who had never heard of her to be part of her dance piece Kontakthof ("Contact Zone").
The film Tanzträume documents these rehearsals at the Wuppertal Dance Theatre one year before Pina Bausch’s death. It is an impressive tribute to the choreographer’s love of people and, not least, to the trials of coming of age.
