BORDER STORIES AND THE ROLE OF FABRIC

How can – at a first glance – simple fabric, a piece of cloth tell emotional, deeply personal yet universal stories of conflict and war? A Mumbai-based visual artist Baptist Coelho knows. He has been researching the conflict in Siachen Glacier since almost ten years, expressing his observations through art. The multimedia exhibition 'thread by thread' at Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad displays his earlier works, comprised by fabrics and materials used by the Siachen soldiers.

The opening of the exhibition will be followed by a panel discussion 'Border Stories and The Role Of Fabric' on 10 October, 11 am.
