Attached to this message you will find the letter announcing the 4th edition of the EURAXESS Science Slam India and the promotional leaflet.

Researchers in India (MA/MSc candidates and above) are invited to send a video and become one of the 5 finalists to receive a short science communication training in Bengaluru and to compete in the LIVE slam in Hyderabad on 18 November 2016!
The 1st prize will be the EURAXESS Science Slammer title and a round trip to Europe to visit Brussels (Belgium) and a research institute of the winner's choice in the European Union in 2017.

INVITATION | #20MEMOIRS by Satya Srinivas

Hamburg Hall, Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad.
The Exhibtion #20 MEMOIRS is an exhibit of portraits of mothers and grannies in water colors and pencils in 2002 in and around #20 Journalist colony, Road no.3 Banjara hills Hyderabad which was his home and is the current address of Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad. It was a place of inspiration for him to pursue painting, writing articles and poetry. The paintings are about mothers and grannies and their eternal love and affection in the abode of creativity. This is a journey to show concern towards them and to show to the world the unheard melodies of mothers.
The artist Satya Srinivas works in an individual environment as a development consultant, with specialization in community based natural resource management, documentation and evaluation, monitoring and training associated with various national and international organisations working towards tribal and rural development. As a writer and photographer his works usually deal with rural development and environment. Art is his latest explorative journey.
Please note the 2nd Event, #20:Down Memory Lane is an interactive session based on poems and memoirs of the neighbourhood by its people on the 8th August, 5:30 pm to 8:00pm Hamburg Hall, Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad.
Entry is free and open to all for both the events.
Not open on Sundays and Public Holidays.

HWMF Academy - New Programs For Children
HWMF Academy offers 3 new programs for children (few seats open)
1.) INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC FOR CHILDREN AGES 6 – 12 YEARS OLD
Our introduction to music class focuses on exposing children to music and developing musical abilities, including rhythmic and melodic skills in an interactive and fun environment. No prior music experience is required! The introduction to music class is a great way to determine your child’s interest in music before committing to individual lessons or investing in a musical instrument.
Our class introduces children to:
- Beginner music theory topics such as basic rhythm skills, how to read treble clef music
- Singing and playing percussion instruments in a group
- Music appreciation activities - exposing children to western classical music with a kid friendly approach

2.) BEGINNER INSTRUMENTAL CLASS – RECORDER
Our beginner instrumental class focuses on the fundamentals of playing the recorder, a simple woodwind instrument that is fun to play on your own or with other players! A recorder is great introduction to instrumental music and basic music principles.

Highlights of our beginner instrumental class include:
· Learn beginner techniques for breathing, producing tone and tonguing on the recorder
· Strengthen music reading skills and abilities
· Provide an opportunity to learn how to play with other players, incl. duets and trios
· Learn a repertoire of songs to play for family and friends!
There will also be performance opportunities for all students at HWMF recitals which are held throughout the year.
PLEASE NOTE to enroll in this class, we require that students complete our Introduction to Music for Children class or have prior music experience. 3.) HWMF’S KID CLUB – VOCAL (8-12 years old)
Group vocal classes are an opportunity for young singers to learn performance, harmony and musicianship in a fun, group setting. HWMF’s Kids Club will encourage friendship while learning elements of music and vocal technique and ensemble singing.
Highlights of our Kid’s Club Vocal Classes:
· Learn correct posture, breathing and warm up exercises
· Sing in rounds
· Harmonizing for beginners
· Phonetics and diction for singing
· Learn vocal repertoire that is age appropriate from various genres of music including pop music, musical theatre, folk and classical music
There will also be performance opportunities for all students at HWMF recitals which are held throughout the year.

TEACHERS:
Nicole Connolly Bhatia studied music in Canada and teaches flute and beginner piano in Hyderabad through the HWMF Academy. Nicole's experience teaching music to young children includes private teaching as well as an instructor/counselor at a non profit summer music camp in Canada.
George Hull is a Saxophonist who plays with some popular jazz bands in town. He had completed his Jazz grades from ABRSM and teaches wind instruments with the HWMF Academy. He has attended several workshops conducted by noted German music educators especially in the field of music development for young children.
